Career
A chartered engineer, Alec worked for over thirty years in management at the former Central Electricity Generating Board, and he became General Manager of Kinetica, a subsidiary of Powergen. He moved a big company to Coventry, managing staff and redundancy issues. He is an accredited CEDR mediator, and member of CEDR Solve, with considerable experience of workplace mediation

Outside activities
Alex spends his spare time pursuing his interests in music, wood, thinking, debating and socialising. Currently Alex is also the Secretary of Oxford "41 Club"
