Workplace & Employment Mediation Costs
We hope you will find our costs good value.
We are a mediation company in Milton Keynes, but our civil mediators cover a huge area and can mediate in most areas of Southern England and some places in the North.
Multi party cases may need two mediators. Venue costs (ie. the cost of hiring a room in which to meet), if any, are added, together with any other agreed costs and split equally between the parties. VAT is added to all our charges. In some small cases it is possible telephone mediation may take place, if so the parties share the cost of this.
Most Workplace disputes are non-financial (eg relationship breakdown, bullying, grievance etc.). Fees are usually paid by the employer and start at £1,500 + VAT for an 8 hour day depending on how many parties/people involved.
Employment mediation - where employer relationship no longer applies - each party usually pay their own fees and the following scales apply, unless agreed beforehand:
For claims between £5,000 and £50,000 we can usually offer a competitive mediation rate for the day or half day – ask us and we will talk to you.
Claims between £50,000 and £100,000
£1,200 + VAT per party for an 8 hour day and up to 3 hours pre mediation reading and £110 + VAT per party per extra hour.
Claims between £100,000 and £250,000
£1,500 + VAT per party for an 8 hour day and up to 3 hours pre mediation reading and £110 + VAT per party per extra hour.
Claims over £250,000 or complex multi party claims, price on application.
Costs may vary to reflect a need for more than one mediator, several days’ mediation or other case specific variations.
Claims under £5,000 – “Small Claims”
If you start proceedings these are currently mediated at court.
Focus Mediation Ltd do not offer mediation for claims under £5,000.
Your mediator's experience and knowledge is critical to your chances of success in mediation, as is your commitment to the process. Mediators improve their skills greatly over time and with experience. Please feel free to ask to talk to our mediators and ask questions.
Remember mediation is a lot cheaper than court costs
